Participants will explore the unique contributions of therapists and other team members in supporting clients, including considerations for accessibility, representation, and scope of practice. Through a discussion on language, attendees will learn to avoid stigmatizing words and adopt a more supportive, strengths-based approach. Specific therapeutic goals for various eating disorders will be covered, with insights on separating the eating disorder from a client’s sense of self. Additionally, the session will include a focus on personal reflection, guiding practitioners in managing their own relationships with food and body to maintain neutrality and reduce transference in their work. This training provides practical tools to create a respectful, empowering, therapeutic environment for clients on their recovery journey. Objectives 1. Describe the roles and responsibilities of therapists and multidisciplinary team members in treating eating disorders, including understanding scope of practice and the importance of representation and accessibility 2. Recognize the impact of language in eating disorder treatment and identify both supportive and harmful language patterns to ensure a non-judgmental, compassionate, therapeutic approach 3. Identify therapeutic goals unique to the main eating disorder diagnoses, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder, and strategies for meeting these goals
